Cairo Water Company revealed the truth about the news about the pollution of drinking water.

The company said in an official statement, Wednesday morning, that the company confirms the falsity of the rumors circulating on social media about the pollution of drinking water, explaining that the drinking water is completely safe and suitable for drinking and meets the specifications.

The Cairo Water Company called on citizens not to be led by these rumors.

The truth about what happened in Aswan
It is noteworthy that rumors have increased in recent days about water pollution in Egypt, especially in Aswan Governorate, while Aswan Governorate denied all these rumors that were circulated by bloggers on social media pages and led to spreading terror and anxiety among citizens, stressing that all these sayings are just rumors and all water tests confirm that it is free of any pollutants.

For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Egyptian Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, revealed in a press conference last Monday that the ministry has a system to ensure the safety of every drop of drinking water that reaches the citizen, and that analyzing samples from water station packages in Aswan showed that the water is completely safe.
He revealed the results of the analyses and tests conducted by the ministry on certain sections of the water stations; to determine the causes of the spread of intestinal infections among the residents of Aswan, saying: "We, in turn, as the Ministry of Health, took samples from water station packages, and the results of the samples showed that all samples were safe by chemical examination, and this is done daily across the republic in order to respond to rumors about the safety and security of Nile water."
He stressed that the visual examination of diarrhea samples confirms the presence of a colonic bacterial infection called "E. coli bacteria", which is present in any contaminated water or food.
